Job Description:
Responsibilities:- Creating validated 3D models, 2D drawings, and supplier spec sheets utilizing the standard design process.
- Leading Design Reviews for your responsible parts to show how your design achieves its function and targets.
- Developing counter-measures to gaps such as cost, mass, durability, strength, and warranty rate based on data and engineering mindset.
- Building relationships with key stakeholders (such as vehicle design, TMC driveline design, Supplier Development teams, purchasing, and assembly plants).
- Managing NA suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of quality parts in line with the requirements of each milestone.
- Benchmarking similar designs to improve our customer experience and cost.
- 5+ years in automotive design/development, specifically in developing Transfer Cases, Differentials, Propshafts, and Driveshafts.
- Demonstrable CAD skills and knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience in the detailed design and release of prototype and production component drawings and supplier spec sheets.
- Knowledge of typical automotive manufacturing methods (i.e. Aluminum and Iron Castings, Forgings, Machining, Thermoplastics, and Rubber Molding).
- Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of conventional, hybrid and electrified drivelines.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Team-oriented thinking and a “can-do” attitude.
