Job Description:

- Design and develop automotive interior and exterior parts.
- Responsible for development of B class surface considering tooling and manufacturing feasibility.
- Coordinate with supplier for manufacturing and tooling concerns.
- Investigate and make countermeasures for field cases.
- Work on styling, feasibility, and master sections and feasibility studies.
- Prepare 3D Design and 2D drawings.
- Develop each component considering design imperatives.
- Perform engineering calculations. Interface with design office for 1st surface appearance and feasibility
- Schedule for make, design and issue parts drawings.
- Work with supplier to release components via Change Management System.
- Participate and contribute in cost saving opportunity meetings.
- Perform formability and DFM (Defect failure mode) analysis.
- Review manufacturing & CAE (computer-aided engineering) feedback & update design parts to satisfy requirements.
- Perform feasibility study of press tool design concepts.
- Responsible for compliance with OEM specifications.
- Provide daily and monthly project reports and report project issues to Lead Engineers

- Must have a Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field, plus one (1) year of automotive engineering experience with the following: (1) 2D and 3DCAD modeling; (2) report generation using DMU (Digital Mock Up); (3) CATIA software OR AutoCAD software; AND (4) interior and exterior vehicle packaging and integration.
- In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor’s degree automotive engineering experience. One (1) year of the five (5) years of progressive automotive engineering experience must include experience with the following: (1) 2D and 3DCAD modeling; (2) Rapid prototyping; (3) CATIA V5 software; and (4) interior and exterior vehicle design and packaging and integration.
